Product Connect for Google SketchUp - Using the Product Editor Tool

Download the Product Connect plugin for Google SketchUp from[Transcript]In this video, we'll explore the features that are built into Product Connect's Product Editor tool.To follow along, you can download the Quincy Kitchen Vignette from the 3D Warehouse. This file is one of a few that we've uploaded to the Product Connect Gallery collection on the Warehouse - which includes some project files that you can use to test Product Connect. In order for things to work the same for you as they do for me, you'll want to download the file and then open it. If you use Get Products, or otherwise import the model, you'll get different results. To start out, you can grab the select tool and preselect a component, such as the wall cabinet, and then Choose the Product Editor tool. Keep in mind that Product Editor will only work with components. Also, when using Product Editor, you have the option to pre-select a specific component or components, in which case, Product Editor will display just the selected items. With nothing selected, Product Editor will list out all of the In Model components, and depending on the complexity of your model, that could take a while. From here you can choose the wall cabinet that appears in the Product Editor window. Since this cabinet was originally downloaded from the Quality Cabinets collection, which contains Product Connect enabled components, you can see that it's been pre-assigned to the Cabinetry schedule, and a few of the form items are already filled out. You can add or edit information in the form, for example, we could put Kitchen in the Room field, then click the save button and then close the product Editor window to return to the model.Next, take the select tool, pre-select the counter component, and then choose Product Editor. You've got the choice to edit the information about the counter it-self, or you can click the disclosure triangle to reveal the nested material that is applied to the faces of the counter component, and edit the information about that material instead. When you save information about a component or a material, that information will be stored in the current model and will show up in any schedules that you export with Report Maker.Download.
