SDO-EVE Finds Evidence of Late Phase in Solar Flares

Starting on the left, the top row shows three separate Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) channels (94, 335, 171 angstrom) next to a map of the Sun's surface magnetic field as observed by the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI). Along the bottom, graphs from EVE show the extreme ultraviolet light peaking both in time with the main flare and the late phase flare.
