The American Veterinary Medical Association's (AVMA) has overseen the quality of veterinary education since the association was founded about 150 years ago. Today the AVMA Council on Education, a council of veterinarians who volunteer their time, oversees the quality of veterinary education in this country, Canada and veterinary schools around the world.
