Follow my tutorials and tip videos to get information that even your local professional dog trainer doesn't know about! This short tip goes over the concept of reinforcing the behaviors you like before your puppy learns on his own to find the behaviors you don't like reinforcing. Teaching your dog to listen to you when he is playing is a very important skill and is a great tool for interrupting inappropriate play- such as over excited, aggressive, and annoying play. You can interrupt play if one dog is not enjoying the play anymore. Calling your dog away from another dog while they are playing is a great test to see if the other dog really was enjoying playing with your dog, or feeling trapped. If the dog comes back to play with your dog after you call your dog away, most of the time he is enjoying it. If the dog stays away from your dog after you recall your dog- most likely the dog was hoping for a chance to escape the overwhelming experience.
