Global Partnership for Oceans

Oceans are under stress. The Global Partnership for Oceans is a growing alliance of governments, international organizations, civil society groups, and private sector interests that will mobilize knowledge and financial resources to address threats to ocean health, resilience and productivity. The Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO (UNESCO-IOC) is part of this powerful coalition that, under the banner of a Global Partnership for Oceans, wants to address the blatant need for coordinated, global action and confront widely documented problems of over-fishing, marine degradation, and habitat loss.
