Sports in America, Playing it Forward (Arabic Subtitles)

Part of the "Sports in America" series, this video focuses on runners with physical disabilities. In 1976, Dick Traum, a man with an artificial leg, ran his first marathon. He finished, but finished last, and he continued to finish last each time when he ran more marathons. He decided to bring other people with physical disabilities to the sport of running, so that he wouldn't have to finish every race in last place. He founded Achilles International, an organization to support runners with disabilities all over the world. Now, people commonly run races, long and short, with prosthetic legs and wheelchairs, and are accepted and honored for their dedication to athletic achievement. (Arabic subtitles)
