In this video math lesson, I model how to graph 5 different functions. The learning objective for this lesson is to model functions using rules, tables and graphs. This topic is essential to learning algebra 1. You can view a function in three different ways. First as a rule or an equation. It will look something like y = 2x + 5 or C(h) = 2h. Both relate a dependent variable to an independent variable. In all of the examples, the equation form is given and I model how to create a table and graph. 3 of the 5 examples, I model how graph linear equations. The final two examples I model how to graph an absolute value equation and a parabola. Both are functions, even though they are not linear.
