Pt 3 - Conservation Panel: Duchamp Portraits by Jean Crotti

On March 27, 2009, the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, held "Conservation Panel: New Research on Marcel Duchamp Portraits by Jean Crotti," featuring conservators and curators from the Museum of Modern Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the National Portrait Gallery. The program was held in conjunction with the National Portrait Gallery's exhibition "Inventing Marcel Duchamp: The Dynamics of Portraiture" ( http://www.npg.si.edu/exhibit/duchamp/ ). It explored new research on portraits of Marcel Duchamp by his brother-in-law, Jean Crotti. Speakers include Scott Gerson, Assistant Paper Conservator, Department of Conservation, The Museum of Modern Art in New York; Scott Homolka, Associate Conservator of Works of Art on Paper, Philadelphia Museum of Art; Shelley Langdale, Associate Curator of Prints and Drawings, Philadelphia Museum of Art; Adrian Sudhalter, Assistant Research Curator, Department of Painting and Sculpture, The Museum of Modern Art, New York; and Michael Taylor, Muriel and Philip Berman Curator of Modern Art, Philadelphia Museum of Art.
