Though it is not technically an effect, you can use it as one.?Kanye West uses this a lot in his songs.?Do not get this confused with pitch correction, a process made famous by the Auto-Tune software. Directions In your Pro Tools session, click and drag to highlight the portion of your?track that you would like to shift up or down. At the top of the window, click? AudioSuite--Pitch Shift--Pitch Shift. Pitch Shift Window There is only one parameter you'll need to focus on in this window, and that is Coarse. The other parameters do not create the same effect. The coarse is measured in semitones. When you go into negative semitones, the pitch goes lower. Adding even a small amount of negative semitones makes the track sound very low. Positive semitones make the pitch high, giving the track section a chipmunk-like quality. When the coarse is at zero semitones, the pitch is unchanged.
