Canadian Politician's Cleavage Erased

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: The Canadian press considers Scarborough-Rouge River MP Rathika Sitsabaiesan, 29, to be "the most compelling of the new crop of young NDP MPs." She's the first Canadian Tamil MP and the standard bearer for young women in a male dominated political culture. But the young, Canadian / Sri Lankan rising member of Parliament is at the center of an embarrassing Photoshop controversy after authorities apparently deemed her cleavage too hot to handle. When searched via Google Image, Rathika's name turned up a headshot of her smiling for the camera wearing a white scoop-neck top and a green necklace with a bit of cleavage. But Canadian political blog Contrarian found that the exact same image appears on Sitsabaiesan's formal Member of Parliament Profile on the Parliament of Canada website -- with the cleavage erased via Photoshop. Critics argue that the alteration was anti-feminist, and that that the cleavage was removed to make Rathika appear less womanly. It is not known if the cropping was requested by her party, her own office, or on the Parliamentary website's own authority. So what do you think? Was her cleavage really inappropriate for her political position, or is she being censored for no good reason? Leave a comment below and let us know.
