In this example, Jen is using the A minor pentatonic scale. For this scale, make sure that your using the correct fingering on your fretting hand. Refer to the practice video above to make sure you get the fourth and third finger double stops down correctly. This will take some extra practice to get the fingerings down at first, but it's a great way to exercise your fingers and build dexterity. Exercise #2 (Top two strings): For this exercise, play a one octave A minor pentatonic scale only on the 1st string. Use the first finger on your fretting hand to bar the top two strings and move up the scale on those strings using double stops. Exercise #3 (Sliding): Take the same pattern from the second exercise and incorporate the sliding technique. Pick the first double stop on the 5th frets of the top two strings, slide up to the 8th fret, pick the 8th fret, slide up to the 10th fret, pick the 10th fret, slide up to the 12th fret. Continue in this way to complete the scale. Read more by visiting our page at: http://www.mahalo.com/courses/master-guitar-solos/employ-your-soloing-skills/practice-double-stops//
