Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: http://bit.ly/MMASurgeEp1 Sometimes when you're editing a Pro Tools session, you need to mute certain regions or part of a region. You can do this easily with the muting function in the editor.? First you'll need to select the region you want to mute. If you want to mute only a few notes on a region, you can isolate those notes first.? Do this with the selector tool by clicking and dragging over the part of the region you want to mute. Then press the "B" key on your keyboard. This will cut off both ends of the section and separate it from the rest of the region.? Now highlight the new section. Hold down the keys Apple+M on your keyboard. The selected section will turn gray, which means that it's muted out. To unmute, highlight the region and press Apple+M again. Its track color will return and it will no longer be muted.
