Splitting Stereo Tracks - Pro Tools 9

When you have a mono track, you have complete control over editing it whereas stereo tracks are more limited. Therefore, making two mono tracks from a stereo track will give you more control and freedom to edit your music.? Start off with a stereo track in your project. You'll see that it is a single track with two sets of audio waves for the left and right sides. There is one master track for the stereo.? Select the stereo track you want to split. Go to the left side of the edit window and right-click on the track. Select Split into Mono from the dropdown menu.? Pro Tools will automatically split the stereo track into two separate mono tracks. It also keeps the original stereo track for your reference. Now you can edit each of the mono tracks?individually.
