Setting The Tempo - Pro Tools 9

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: http://bit.ly/MMASurgeEp1 Setting the tempo in your Pro Tools song session allows you to control speed, or beats per minute, of your project. The tempo of a song plays an important factor in the overall mood and qualities that the song can exhibit. To change the tempo of your song, double-click on the small red arrow in the Tempo bar that runs along the timeline at the top of the edit window.? This will bring up the Tempo Change dialog box in which you can set the beats per minute (BPM) to reflect any speed you want. The higher the BPM number, the faster the tempo will be. You can also create a tempo change in the middle of your song session. To do so, place the play marker at the spot in the timeline where you want the tempo change to occur.? With the play marker in place, click on the small plus (+) sign next to Tempo in the top bar to the left of the edit window. This call call up the Tempo Change dialog box again. When you choose the BPM you want to set, that change will occur exactly at the part in the timeline where you placed the play marker. This change will be represented by a small musical notation with a number next to it representing the BPM.
