Overdubbing - Pro Tools 9

For instance, you may have already recorded a session with drums, guitars, bass and vocals, or you may have just recorded a single track with only one instrument. Either way, the act of recording over that track or tracks to make a new product is called Overdubbing. How to Overdub in Pro Tools 9 1. To begin, create a new track and make sure the Track Record Enable button is turned on for the track you're recording to. 2. Place this new track directly above or directly below the track you're going to be mimicking. 3. Make sure you have the correct Input selected, such as Input 1, and the correct Output setting, such as Output 1-2. 4. When you're ready, press Record. As you listen to the playback of the original audio track, record on top of it by repeating what you hear.
