This step uses a basic?flap heel step?to turn in a full circle.? 1. To perform a flap heel turn, do three flap heel steps in a row. Start off the first one by flapping your right foot to the outside, opening up your hips to the right. Land the right heel down in the direction you're going.? 2. Now do a flap heel with your left leg, following the direction of your right leg. Finish this flap facing the back.? 3. The last flap heel completes your turn. Flap your right foot behind you and use it to spin the rest of the way around.? 4. You can start another turn in the opposite direction with your left leg.? *?Note: When doing the flaps in the turn, don't raise your feet too far off the ground. It helps to keep your flaps small and your circles tight.? SpottingWhen performing turns, it's a good idea to know how to spot so that you don't lose your balance and fall down.? First, pick a spot on the wall or mirror in front of you. Keep your eyes fixed on that spot.? * Start your turn but keep your head and eyes focused on the spot on the wall for as long as possible.? At the last possible second, flip your head around as fast as you can while your finish the turn. Keep your focus on the spot.
