Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: http://bit.ly/MMASurgeEp1 A Smart Collection is a folder that is created automatically for you in the Event Library and serves as a method of organizing your clips and information in ways that allow you to be more efficient, faster and more organized with your workflow. To create a Smart Collection, you'll need clips imported into your Browser. When you import, you'll bring up the Import dialog box.? Check the box next to Create Smart Collections after analysis under the Video section of this Import dialog box and click Import?to import your selected clips into your project. The Auto-Analysis feature uses people detection to determine if there is a single person or multiple people in a shot.? This information, along with determining shots as close-up, medium or wide, is then used to automatically organize shots into Smart Collections. You can view this information in the Browser and Event Library windows when you reveal a clip that is part of a Smart Collection. Organizing your clips into Smart Collections can really come in handy on a film shoot that has many, many clips that could benefit from some sort of organization for easier navigating.? Final Cut Pro X is able to achieve this function by using an algorithm that analyzes the content of your clips and intelligently places them into collections with labels according to the type of shot it is.? Having Final Cut Pro do this for you automatically is like having your own assistant editor go through your footage and sort it before you begin working with it.
