New Mail Preferences --------------------------------------------------------------------- Mac OS X Lion contains new features available in the Mail program. These let you customize your preferences to make sending messages simpler.?In the Mail program window, go to Mail -- Preferences. A window will open containing tabs for customizing your program. Select the Composing tab to view the new features.? * Set the Message Format to Plain Text or Rich Text. Plain text is a basic format that is easier for email programs to read, while rich text allows you to include symbols, colors, fonts and other additions to emails.? * Select whether Mail will check your spelling as you type, when you click send or not at all.? * Set the Mail program to automatically CC you whenever you send a message.? * Choose to automatically complete addresses you enter into a message.? * Choose to show all the member addresses when you send a message to a group.? * Mark all addresses that don't contain a certain ending.? * Customize which email address you send messages from if you have multiple accounts in the Mail program.? * Select which account to create your notes in.? * Choose to automatically use the previous format when replying to a message.? * Select if you want to include the quoted message in a reply.? * Select options for quoting message text in replies and forwards.?
