Sean Avery Arrested

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: Sean Avery of the NY Rangers was arrested and charged with battery on a police officer early Friday morning. On August 5th, around 1am, police responded to a noise complaint at Avery's house in the Hollywood Hills. According to TMZ, Avery called them "fat little pigs" and challenged them to "come back without your badges." During the incident, the 31-year old hockey player and fashionista shoved one of the cops and slammed his door on them. The cops warned Avery through the door that if he didn't open up, they would have the break the door down. Avery then reportedly opened the door and cooperated. He was jailed and his bail was set at $20,000, which he has since posted. The cocky athlete is no stranger to controversy. While playing for the Dallas Stars in 2008, he was suspended by the NHL for making crude comments about ex-girlfriends Elisa Cuthbert and Rachel Hunter dating other hockey players. He infamously waved his hands and stick in front of the face of New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Broder to block his view. The league put in "Avery Rule" to prohibit similar tactics in the future. In addition to hockey, Avery's other interest is fashion, which his website is dedicated to.
