How to Do Shuffles in Tap Dance

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: http://bit.ly/MMASurgeEp1 Shuffles are great moves to get your feet warmed up before you start actually doing a routine or having class. They are used to loosen up your ankles, so that as ou perform more tap moves faster, you can keep you movements really small and produce every single sound that's supposed to be made. 1. Begin with your hands on your hips to help maintain your balance. Pick your right foot up and hold it behind you. 2. Brush your foot forward, touching the floor only with your right toe. 3. Brush your foot backwards, again touching the floor only with your right toe. That's a shuffle. Repeat these steps with your other foot and practice. 4. A shuffle to the side is performed by brushing the floor with your toe in an outward motion, followed by brushing toward your body. 5. Finally, you can also do your shuffles crossing. After you brush your toe forward, brush your toe backward but cross your leg in front of the other, making sure to not hit your knees. *The important part is to practice these until you can perform them at a syncopated fast pace.
