Record Enable - Pro Tools 9

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: What Is Record Enable? The Record Enable button "primes" a track, so to speak, to be able to record. It serves as a way of reassuring that you are choosing the correct track that you want to record on. To enable a track to be recorded on, simply press the Record Enable button in the channel strip to make it highlighted red. It will flash intermittently, indicating that it's on. Keep in mind that enabling a track to record does not mean that you're actually recording on to that track. You're only enabling the track to be recorded on. This is to simply let you know exactly which track you're going to be recording on. Any track that you record to needs to have this button on and enabled. Read more by visiting our page at:
