First open up Pro Tools. In the quick start window, select Music from the dropdown menu on the right side. Below the menu, choose the genre of music you want to work in. You have a variety of choices, including Blues, Electronica, Hip Hop, Rock and many others. When you make your choice, click Ok.? You'll be prompted to save the session by naming it and selecting a save location. After this, Pro Tools will open up the edit window for your session.? The music template will automatically provide you with tracks for your recording session. The track types and effects will vary by the genre you selected.? For example, if you chose the House genre, the window will provide you with tracks for the basic elements of a House song, such as MIDI, bass, piano and drums. A Rock template will provide electric guitar tracks, drum tracks and bass tracks.? In addition, the standard recording effects for your genre will also be included with the template.? When you go to the mixer, you'll find that the template already set up all of the Sends and the audio effects for your tracks.?You can also access the effects at the top of the mixer.? All you have to do is adjust how much of the effect you want to use and start recording.
