Previewing Files with a Mac --------------------------------------------------------------------- When you're browsing through your files, it can be helpful to use the preview function to view the folders, videos, pictures or music that you're searching through. This allows you to look at files without having to open up a program to see them.? How to Use Preview --------------------------------------------------------------------- In the Finder window, open up a folder that you want to browse through. To use the preview function, you can click on the Quick Look button at the top of the window.?You can also use a shortcut by pressing the spacebar. Press the spacebar again to exit the preview window.The preview window will open in front of the Finder window. It will display the item's title, what type of file it is, how many items are within it, and the date it was modified.?If it is a folder that contains other items, you can press the Right arrow key to open up the folder while in preview. Press the Down arrow key to scroll through the items in the folder and see the information for each one. Press the Left arrow key to go back to the folder.?You can also make the preview go to full screen mode. When previewing videos, you can play them in the window without opening up a movie application.?You can also easily add files to iPhoto by selecting the Add to iPhoto button.?
