Import Settings --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you import your CD, set your Import Settings as desired.1. Click Import Settings, found?the lower-right corner of the iTunes window.2. In the Import Settings window, you can choose which encoder iTunes will use to encode your CD's music. This refers to the file format the file will be imported as. All of these formats but .mp3 retain a high amount of quality, because there is no compression. .mp3s are smaller files, though, so this is an acceptable choice if you are attempting to save space on your computer. Method #1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- This method will work best if you are importing an entire CD rather than just certain tracks.1. Place your CD into the CD drive.2. An iTunes dialog box will pop up, asking if you want to import the CD into your iTunes library.?Click?Yes.If you select Do not ask me again, iTunes will automatically start importing audio every time you insert a CD. This is not always desirable. For example, if you put in a CD that you've already imported, it will import it again. For this reason, this option is not recommended.3. After you have clicked Yes,?iTunes will begin to import the songs into your Music Library. Method #2 --------------------------------------------------------------------- This method works best when you are only interested in importing certain tracks from your CD.1. Place your CD into the CD drive.2. An iTunes dialog box will pop up, asking if you want to import the CD into your iTunes library.?Click No.3. You will be taken to a list of every song on the CD.?Any checked song will be imported. If you want to only import certain songs, uncheck the others.?4. Click Import CD. If a song is downloading, this symbol will appear to the left of its check mark:At the top of the window, the import time remaining will be displayed as a gauge and a number.
