The Power Chord --------------------------------------------------------------------- Power chords are the chords of rock music. Most rock guitar players use them any time they're not shredding a solo, and the best part is that they're very easy to play. All a power chord consists of is the root of the chord and the 5th interval (the 1st and the 5th). In fact, power chords are commonly written as the root, then the number "5" like so: G5.
