How to Detangle Hair

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: In this video, Mahalo hair stylist Jamie Pierce shows you how to properly detangle your hair. What You'll Need --------------------------------------------------------------------- * Soft-bristle brush * Hair clips Step 1: Section --------------------------------------------------------------------- Before you start, it's best to have dry hair. Taking a shower with tangled hair can mat it and increase tangles and knots. Since you're going to start by brushing out the underneath layers, section the top layers off and clip them so they are out of the way. Step 2: Separate --------------------------------------------------------------------- Take your first small section and work some of the strands apart with your fingers. Don't pull on the hair or try to break through knots, just gently open the hair sections so they are relatively flat and ready to be brushed. Step 3: Brush --------------------------------------------------------------------- Without being too aggressive, gently brush through the section you've already worked with your fingers. Taking care of your hair while you brush it prevents having to deal with extra trims for dead ends or masks and conditioners for breakage. Step 4: Continue --------------------------------------------------------------------- Repeat steps two and three until you've brushed all of your tangled hair. Now you can either style your hair or take a shower to rinse any product out. If you choose to take a shower, leave the conditioner in a bit longer than usual and rinse with cold water to close the hair cuticle. Read more by visiting our page at:
