On Tuesday afternoon in Chicago, Oprah Winfrey taped the final episode of her 25 year-old show. Among a hand-picked audience dressed in brightly-colored outfits, Oprah said goodbye to the nation's most popular daytime talk show. Fans had submitted essays on telling why they should receive tickets to the show, and were invited over the weekend to come to Chicago for the historic taping. For the first part of her "Farewell Spectacular," many surprise celebrity guests joined the TV icon including Beyonce, Tom Cruise Tom Hanks and Aretha Franklin -- who sang "Amazing Grace." Other guests included recently separated Maria Shriver, Michael Jordan as well as Will and Jada Smith -- all of whom toasted the Queen of Daytime television. Oprah finally got emotional and cried when Kristin Chenoweth tailored the Broadway song from Wicked, "For Good", to fit the moment, as a group of Morehouse College graduates Oprah inspired surrounded her with candles. For Tuesday's second and final part of the farewell special, Oprah took to the stage by herself without any guests. Her final words to her fans were: "This is not going to be goodbye. This is the closing of one chapter and the opening of a new one," referring to her new cable channel, OWN, which began last January.
