Windows Live Family Safety - Overview --------------------------------------------------------------------- Windows Live Family Safety takes parental controls to the next level. If you don't have it, you can download the Windows Live Essentials pack by clicking here. Included in the pack is Windows Live Family Safety, which is used for managing other accounts on your computer. It gives you more control over what that account is allowed to do. You can also view the account's activities. For instance, you can control Web filtering, which controls which websites an account is allowed to visit. You can create Web filtering lists, where you can allow or deny specific websites. You can track and monitor Activity reporting, which will show you all of the activity on a particular account, such as the websites that have been viewed and how many visits the account has had per site. There is a Contact management, which control all of the chats, shares and emails that are allowed to be sent from an account. There is a Requests option, where you can see requests to view a website that is blocked and either approve or deny the request. You also have the ability to place Time limits on computer use associated with a certain account. This can help if you have children and you don't want them spending all day on the computer. Game restrictions enable you to allow or deny the playing of certain games based on a game's rating. Program restrictions also also enable you to control which programs are allowed or denied.
