Instructions --------------------------------------------------------------------- There are several different ways to apply blood to an object or subject. These include masking blood elements from other pictures, using customized Photoshop brushes or painting. This tutorial will explain the painting method because it is the simplest and grants the most control to the user. Choose a color that most closely resembles the look you're going for. Try using the color settings in the picture above.2. Create a new layer in the Layers panel and rename it Sword Blood. 3. Grab the Brush Tool and begin painting blood on the sword. Feel free to overlap your brush strokes, and think about how the sword would be used to cause this blood to remain on the blade. 4. Once you've painted enough blood on, grab the Smudge Tool. Use the Smudge Tool to smear the painted blood around the blade. Use up and down strokes to create different effects. Next, use the Sharpen Tool to add some elements of aging to the blood.6. Lower the Opacity of the Sword Blood layer to 85% and adjust the Brightness and Contrast by navigating to the top menu bar and clicking Image -- Adjustments -- Brightness/Contrast.
