SALE TODAY: Learn Piano on iOS In this video, Mahalo's Photoshop expert Justin Zagri shows how to add a glowing effect to an object in a picture. Photoshop Tutorial - Glowing Effect --------------------------------------------------------------------- You can add a simple glowing effect to an object in your picture by utilizing the Layer Fx panel. Duplicate one of your layers by pressing Ctrl+J (Command+J for Mac). Unlink the mask on that new layer and drag it to the Trash icon at the bottom of the Layers panel. Confirm the deletion. Move the newly created layer to the top in the Layers panel. Grab the Pen Tool and begin clicking around the area of the object on which you want to add a glow. Once you have it fully selected, right-click on it and choose Create vector mask. Make sure Add to shape area is also selected in the top options panel. Click the Fx button at the bottom of the Layers panel and choose Outer Glow. Change the color to something more fitting for your object. Change the Technique to Precise and adjust the Spread and Size sliders to your liking. Try adding another element, such as Lens Flare, by clicking Filter -- Render -- Lens Flare in the top menu bar. Move the source of the flare in the dialogue box screenshot. This is how the glow looks when it's finished. Read more by visiting our page at:
