Photoshop Tutorial - Adding Effects

Check out Bas Rutten's Liver Shot on MMA Surge: In this video, Mahalo's Photoshop expert Justin Zagri demonstrates how to add effects to an image to help objects blend in with the rest of the material. Instructions --------------------------------------------------------------------- Adding Effects will help objects like the cityscape blend with the host material better. For this tutorial, you'll uses Effects to blend the cityscape with the mountain background. 1. Navigate to the top menu bar and click Filter -- Noise -- Add Noise.?As long as the Preview box is checked, you will be able to see real-time effects as you adjust the sliders and change the preferences of the effect.2. Another great effect to add is Grain, because posters are taken from photographs, and photographs originally contained a graininess that added to their aesthetic qualities. Do this by clicking Filter -- Texture -- Grain in the top menu bar.?This will open up a new sub menu. Grain creates a wonderful effect that makes all of the colors pop and look desaturated. Experiment with the sliders to adjust the Intensity and Contrast. You can also change the Grain Type if you want to.3. The last thing you'll want to do with the cityscape is adjust some settings so it does not look so crisp. Click on Filter -- Blur -- Blur to add a blur effect. To customize the blur, click Filter -- Blur -- Surface Blur.4. Play with the Radius and Threshold settings until you're happy with the results. You can also use the Blur Tool from the left side tool bar if the image is still too crisp.
