Eyedropper Tool --------------------------------------------------------------------- The Eyedropper tool serves as a reference for finding specific colors as well as easy color choosing for painting. 1. Click the Eyedropper tool in the tool bar or press I on your keyboard. With the tool selected, click anywhere on your image to select your foreground color. Foreground and background color selections can be found at the bottom of your tool bar. To select a background color, press and hold the Alt (Option for Mac) key, then click with your mouse.2. To sample colors outside of Photoshop, click and drag until you are outside of your Photoshop window and let go of the mouse button when you have sampled a color you like.3. Finally, to sample a color quickly while painting, press and hold the I key, then click the color of choice and let go of the key. You will now be working with the color you have selected.4. For color specific people who need to reference based on a catalog of colors, take a look at the colors and swatches panel as you sample them and it will give you references based on whatever you clicked on.
