Nutrition, obesity and weight-loss experts gathered at the Library of Congress to present "Weight Loss Through the Ages: Where We've Been, What We've Learned and Where We're Going." Ron Kind is a congressman serving the state of Wisconsin in the U.S. House of Representatives. David Kirchhoff is president and CEO of Weight Watchers International. Ellen Granberg is associate professor of Sociology at Clemson University. Karen Miller-Kovach is chief scientific officer at Weight Watchers International. Ann Albright is director of the Division of Diabetes Translation at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. As director, Albright leads a team of more than 100 who strive to eliminate the preventable burden of diabetes through leadership, research, programs, and policies that translate science into practice. Patrick O'Neil is a professor of of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has devoted his career to helping patients manage their weight and is the author of more than 100 scientific papers and presentations.
