Protect Your Survival Gear - Bug Out Bag - Long Term Storage

See what happens in just three months in a humid environment. This was in a plastic container and put on a shelf in a storage shelter. Stuff gets moldy and ruined very fast if it is not properly protected. Package every single item in its own ziploc bag or trash bag. Seal, tie or somehow secure the bag to keep moisture, bugs and dirt out. Your survival or bug out bag should also be protected in this way. Put every single item in its own bag. If you need to bug out then you will have safe, dry gear and a lot of bags for future use. You can use them to carry drinking water as well later on. If mice get in or your emergency survival bag gets wet, you will at least save most of your gear. I have been storing survival gear for many years like this and every single item that was placed in its own bag is still fresh and clean like the day it was packed. Sadly my sleeping bag was not protected. Didnt think it would be out there so long. Dont take chances with your survival. http://www.thediyworld.com
