I have improved the off grid RV rain water collection system by adding an on - off valve on the inside of the camper. This allows me to fill up the on board tank from the outside tank without running back an forth moving hoses. The new hose is permanently connected to the rain water collection tank outside and the internal camper tank inside. The hoses come into the RV under the kitchen sink. Now I just open the door under the sink and open the valve to fill the on board tank. When it is full, I just shut it off. The down side to this is that I must watch it to prevent overfill. Previously, with the original setup any overflow would simply dump outside on the ground. Because the original filler hose was ruined and leaking, this was not working anyway. http://www.TheOffGridProject.com
