Consider creating 3-D cards for a Valentine's Day party, for your friends and family members or as a craft project for children. 3-D Valentine's Day cards is a craft suitable for children under adult supervision.?Substitute?safety scissors as appropriate to the skill level and age of the child. This craft can be created out of materials you already have on hand, or items purchased at your local craft or hobby store. 1: Gather Supplies---------------------------------------------------------------------You will need to purchase or collect scissors, a glue stick, markers, one sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 construction paper and two sheets of 11 X 17 construction paper. You can select any colors of markers you prefer. Each sheet of construction paper should be in a different color. Opt for colors such as pink, red or white to tie the card closely to Valentine's Day. 2: Prepare Card---------------------------------------------------------------------Take your 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of construction paper and fold it in half. Cut two slits about two inches in?depth?at the crease. These two slits should start about 1/2 - 3/4 inch from the middle of the creased edge of the paper. Fold the cut section towards the bottom of the paper. Open the card, then pull the piece in the opposite direction and pinch it at the crease so it "pops" up. 3: Decorate Your Card---------------------------------------------------------------------Place words and decorative items on the front of your card. You could write "I Love..." or any appropriate Valentine's Day saying. Decorate with your markers until you are happy with the look of your cover. Cut out two hearts from your other pieces of construction paper. Place the two hearts together with the bottom layer framing part of the top heart. Place some glue on the back of the bottom heart and affix to the pop out section of the card. Write "U!" or any other saying on the heart that relates to the saying on the front of the card.
