"How to Make a Ladybug Cake/Assembly Today we're going to make a Ladybug cake and for that I have made 2 eight inch round cakes and a very small cake, but you can use a ball pan and it gives you a nice little round perfect ball. So we'll take our first eight inch cake and we're just going to cut it across the top so it evens it out, going to add some icing and then we're going to add our second layer. For this, I'm not going to cut off our second layer across the top because we can use this roundness for the rounding of our Ladybug cake. So I'm just going to add a little icing across the top. We wont need that much because we're going to be rounding it out quite a bit and then we'll add some icing on the side and this is going to hold our cake together and we'll just scrape away the extra icing. Now what you want to do is you want to decide where you're going to put the face for our Ladybug. I'm going to put it right here so what we're going to do is just cut a little piece off of the front. We'll apply some icing too, and for this portion we're just going to do the same. Just cut a little piece off of this edge so that it meets right here and after we've cut it down, this is going to become our Ladybug's face and then the body. We'll give our Ladybug's face just a little bit of icing. That's going to collect all the crumbs and then we'll put this in the refrigerator and let it chill for about 45 minutes and then we'll come back and we'll carve our ladybug out."
