Hi, I'm Taylor Nissi, Director of Operations for Game Breaker Lacrosse. I'm here today with Nick Schmidt who's one of our great regional directors. Please visit our website www.laxcamps.com. The set up the drill is to have the offensive player carrying the ball to the defensive player playing defense on them from behind the goal. And what the offensive player wants to do is practice zig zagging and you're going to approach the goal line and come back from the goal line. The important part to focus on is you always want to have your head up so you can see the field and you also want to have your hands as often as possible two hands on your stick in a position to make a pass or take a shot. Ocassionally, when the defensemans getting really close on you it might be easiest to carry the ball using your body and your arm as a stick protection, but as soon as you're getting away from him you have some space you want to get that second hand on and get ready to pass or shoot. Set up of the drill is just going side line to side line working on the zig zag popping out, getting it close to the defense man and taking away his stick so he can't throw checks and then pop him back and free your hand so you're in a position to make a play. And that's the basics of the zig zag drill.
