"My name is Barbara Esses and I do events for a living. I'm Ruthie Hecht; I'm an event planner and I work with and for my mother. We're going to teach you the do's and don'ts for the perfect wedding. When choosing a wedding veil, there are endless possibilities. A mantille is a veil that comes across your head covered in lace, lace all the way down and around the back. It's absolutely beautiful. Just make sure that it frames your face and that the lace corresponds to the lace on your dress, if there is any. Otherwise it'll look like you just don't match. Also, you can do a circular veil. It's a big piece of tulle, cut out in a circle. They pinn it into your hair up here, so you have a small blusher in the front covering your face, and a big long train in the back. Some brides choose to wear something that just covers their face, very '20s, very beautiful, very classic. In any veil that you choose, make sure we can still see your face. There shouldn't be lace obscuring your eyes. People would much rather see you walking down the aisle than a big piece of white fabric. Some veils can be pulled over your face and some will always stay behind your hair. Those you can go fingertip which comes just to the end of your hand as a beautiful accent to your wedding dress. Otherwise, you can go all the way to the floor. When doing so, always try to go at least a foot passed the bottom of the dress. If you have a train on your dress, still keep going. The longer the dress, the longer the veil should be. When trimming a veil, a beautiful small trim can really accent a great dress. Be careful when trimming a veil. You can either use a clean white satin, but just a little bit, or the lace off your dress which can be absolutely beautiful. Be careful though. You don't want the trim to fight with your dress, otherwise you'll look like a big mess. When choosing your veil, it can either go as a comb in your hair with the headpiece or even a beautiful tiara. You can borrow a beautiful tiara from your local jeweler, but definitely ask your hairdresser. They have great ressources. So those are some ideas to pick a beautiful veil.
