My name is Nicole Block of the Nic Studio. I do stationary and illustrations, and I specialize in custom wedding invitations and special event invitations. My website is thenicstudio.com and I'll be talking to you today about wedding invitations. My favorite invitations to do are the ones with custom artwork. I think it is really important to make it as personal as possible. It is more expensive. That is said if you cannot afford custom artwork may be you can make some of your own. It is really a lot easier than you think. You know you can just do your own little drawing, couple stick for years or a heart are actually really sweet and enduring and they are from your hand then they can work. May be you can take one of your kids drawings, if you have a child and if you are really afraid of it and you cannot draw a straight line with a ruler, then you do may be want to pay for custom artwork. Be straight with your designer and find somebody whose style you love and who can communicate what you want to communicate. This couple came to me, they wanted to include their travels. They traveled everywhere together and they wanted them in the invitation. There is a park by them that they really love to go to and they pass by the 59th street bridge on their way to work everyday. They have a dog and they wanted dog on the invitation. So how is this all going to work out. I took a photo that they had from their trip to Israel of this tree on a cliff and put that in the drawing along with the 59th street bridge and the promenade from the blank park right by their house and I made this all into one scene that actually looks like it might actually exist in nature somewhere in New York City and their dog too Bob, the most important part of this whole process is down in front right there popped out in below. It turned out to be a great invite and a very personal invitation for a really great couple, it made it all that much more special and they really cherish this piece and so did all of their guests. Anyway you look at it, personal artwork and custom artwork can really bring out the personality of the couple sending out the invitation.
