Step 1: Gather samples and assess Gather as many handwriting samples as you can from the person you want to analyze. Spontaneously written samples are best. Tip Signatures are deliberate and won't reveal much. Step 2: Look at size Notice the size of the writing. Large writing indicates someone looking for attention, while small writing means they are private and introspective. Step 3: Gauge the pressure Gauge the pressure the writer used. Dark writing that takes a lot of pressure means the person has a lot of energy; light pressure shows a lack of vitality. Tip No one indicator alone is as revealing as many examined together. Step 4: Study the slant Study the slant to gauge the writer's emotional makeup. A slant to the right indicates warm, caring, and emotional. A vertical slant indicates a person who tries to control their emotions. A left slant signifies someone who conceals their emotions. Step 5: Note the baseline Note the baseline, especially if the writing is on unlined paper. A straight baseline indicates someone who is anxious and regimented. A baseline that trails downward indicates depression or pessimism, while upward shows an optimistic person. Step 6: Look at spaces between letters and words Look at the space between letters and words. Letters close together indicate someone who is self-conscious. A lot of space between words shows a loner. Someone who is self-confident and enjoys people will show average spacing. Did You Know? Did you know?
