Step 1: Make soapy water Squeeze a squirt of dishwashing liquid into a sink or bucket of warm water. Tip Never use abrasive cleaners, as they could scratch the chrome. Step 2: Dip the cloth Dip the cloth in the soapy water and wash your chrome item. Tip Don't wash chrome in greasy dishwater, or you'll end up with a greasy film that will burn if heated. Step 3: Use a toothbrush An old toothbrush will help you clean hard to reach places. Step 4: Dry with paper towels Use paper towels to wipe the item dry. Step 5: Use chrome cleaner If there are still stains or dirty areas, use a cleaner made for chrome or soft metals, following instructions on the packaging. Now your chrome will twinkle like new. Did You Know? Chromium was discovered in 1757 by French pharmacist and chemist Louis-Nicholas Vauquelin.
