New York, NY – Leading education site Noodle.com unveiled the largest online database of preschools in the country on Tuesday, giving parents the most comprehensive tool yet to guide their search. Now, parents can easily search for, save, and explore profiles on almost 200,000 schools across all 50 states.
“If I want to find a restaurant, I go to Yelp. A house? Zillow. A vacation? TripAdvisor. But for something as important as my child’s education, there’s no easy place to go,” Jackie Struble, a mother of a four year old, said. “Noodle is helping me cut through the clutter and focus solely on learning about preschools in my area. That way, I can get the information I need to start finding the right preschool for my child. I will definitely be using this again in the future.” Previously, the stressed-out parents of over 25 million kids had no real place to go to find a preschool, relying mostly on friends, family, and imprecise Google searches. To help these families, Noodle created its Preschool Search by compiling public & private information from across the U.S., and by directly reaching out to associations and preschool providers to “claim” and update their profiles.
Parents are able to search by location and refine their searches by checking off different criteria that are important to them. The search then automatically prioritizes results, with the most closely matched schools appearing first followed by other recommended programs in the area that might be a good fit.Parents can also utilize the Noodle community of education experts, parents and caregivers to get advice and have questions answered by the group. And Noodle is aggressively reaching out to other preschools in order to keep adding profiles and details to its database.
“Research has shown us that the value of a preschool education is extremely important for setting our children up for success. We have heard repeatedly from parents that it can be hard to find the time to properly vet the programs in their area. We built our interactive Preschool Search with those parents in mind,”Noodle Founder John Katzman, who also started The Princeton Review, said. “Now, parents can easily search for, save and explore further schools in their area, and then get back to focusing on their child’s actual education. Schools are equally pleased with the tool as it gives them an opportunity to showcase their strengths by providing essential information about their programs, posting photos and videos, and more.”
The launch of the Noodle Preschool Search marks the latest in a series of moves the company has made to expand its capabilities and reach with parents. The company recently partnered with Thurgood Marshall College Fund to host the Fund’s college profiles. And in June, they announced a partnership with College Abacus to assist with student’s net college calculation.
