Being a non-typical college, students at the Art Institute have to get a little creative when it comes to having fun. Usually we just hang out, watch movies, or go out to eat. Sometimes we explore the city.

Most people I know and observe typically play video games, meet with their crew in the student lounge, and throw parties, whether they're for everyone or just them.

Believe it or not, there are so many fun things to do at the school. They hold so many activities for students each week it would be impossible to keep up with them all. Once of my favorite things to do is go to the school and attend 'Restaurant,' every Thursday. The school has a room, that is set up just like a restaurant, and the culinary students can practice in the kitchen preparing meals for others. They serve you, and have a menu for students to place their order. The culinary students put together your meal and others, and get a real feeling for the restaurant business. It's great. Another fun activity I attended would have been going to the gallery. My art teacher held a special occasion for students, where they put up their art work and showed off their skills. There was music, and a whole lot of people. The culinary students also prepared finger foods with the guests and students. A couple weeks ago after the new quarter started, some of the students in charge of the on-campus housing created an event. It was called, 'Grocery Bingo.' The prizes for winning bingo was grocery's, which sounds boring, like who needs a roll of paper towels, but surprising enough, the event was packed full of students living on campus. I won kitchen towels, a floor mat, a gift card to a grocery store of my choice and a package of toilet paper. And as a broke college student, I'd have to say that it was pretty fun.
