Student, Bothell High School, Class of 2017,
At Bothell High School, there's a wide variety of clubs and extracurriculars that students can take part in. I'd say the three most popular are football, FBLA, and ASB. Football games are always tons of fun, and the pre-game tailgates have become something of tradition. The school spirit at Bothell is unlike any school I've seen before. We never fail to impress with face paint or other spirit gear. Many of my friends are in the FBLA club - Future Business Leaders of America. Although I'm not personally involved in it, I know they are a great group of people and Bothell's FBLA members always take home trophies at their leadership conferences. FBLA is probably the biggest club at BHS. Finally, ASB pretty much runs the school - organizing fundraisers, decorating for school events, planning and scheduling spirit assemblies, and much more. Without them, we'd hardly be the spirited school we're proud to be. I myself am very involved in Bothell's theatre program. Drama is a fantastic way to make long-lasting friendships and have a ton of fun while doing what I love - acting. I love the drama environment. It's like a big family who always supports each other and can work together in order to achieve amazing things. Additionally, I am involved with choir, KEY club, and Amnesty International. This is my second year of choir at Bothell, and I can honestly say that it has been an incredible experience so far. Ms. Erickson is a wonderful teacher whose passion and enthusiasm for music really shines through in everything she does. This year, the madrigal choir is made up of wonderful, talented people, and the energy one feels walking into the choir room is undeniable. It's definitely a highlight of my day. KEY club and Amnesty International are new for me this year. I've always been passionate about helping others, and KEY club allows volunteer opportunities where I can experience that. Similarly, Amnesty International is a club which brings to light human rights issues in today's world. It allows its students to have a voice in the injustices that surround us and allow us to be informed so that we can take a stand.
