The schools motto is 'knowledge that works'. Students who attend the University of Baltimore are looking for an education that merges theory and practice. The University has several academic programs that address issues facing our world today, such as Cyber Security or Information Architecture. Even my degree program (Publications Design) benefits from the robust professional development opportunities at the university.

Students can also serve the local community through food drives and student organizations. Knowledge must work in order to make a difference. Those who apply to the University of Baltimore reflect the school's motto very well.

A typical UB student is one that can be easily be identified from the crowd. The UB atmosphere is where students gain knowledge that works. A person who is not shy to embrace diversity, and an upbeat urban campus with the charm of Charm City will be able to enjoy studying at UB. Someone who looking to party hard is not a good fit to go study here. The campus is where students are prepared for the real world.

Original, their own person. Willing to define them-self and isn't scared to make changes when necessary. Some have made mistakes in the past but they come determined to make changes.

A typical University of Baltimore student is someone who is not necessarily a traditional student. He/she has been in-and-out of college over the years--taking time off to focus on work or family. Because this student has the opportunity to be back in college, he/she is even more determined and hardworking--not taking education for granted. He/she is serious about pursuing a specific field of study for a particular career path or for personal enrichment.

The typical University of Baltimore student is friendly, ambitious, inquisitive, and most definitely hardworking. The type of person that should attend this school should definitely have all of these qualities, but of course they will also have the qualities that makes them unique; either that being artsy, musically gifted, technologically talented, or anything else of the sorts.

There isn't really a typical student at UB. At my previous university (a small, southern, Christian university) the population was almost entirely wealthy, Protestant white kids, but here there is enormous diversity. To generalize though, I would say the average student is self-motivated and eager to learn, with well-rounded interests and an interest in their community.

The typical student is a 22 and older, full time employed, graduate student, continuing their education. The type of person that should attend UB is someone who enjoys all of the amenities city life and very experienced professors, as well as a very, very hands on experience. UB gives one an opportunity to apply knowledge while in school, as opposed to after graduation.
