Student, Dr Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican High School, Class of 2016,
**I would recommend Social Parenting classes, i am a teen mother who would love if other schools had a Social Parenting class, so if their is young parents they can be thought how to properly take care of their child. I really appreciate that class its helped me on my parenting skills I feel like a strong teen mother and my daughter has also learned a lot from me.
Another extracurricular class is journalism, i had the honor to interview the principle, the students, staff, and also Humboldt Park community. I interview students on our after school programs which half of the students didn't know we had, which was sad because its an amazing opportunities in which we get credit for doing after school programs. I interviewed The Humboldt Park community on Oscar Lopez who is a political prisoner Oscar worked in the creation of both the Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos Puerto Rican High School and the Puerto Rican Cultural Center. He was also involved in the struggle for bilingual education in public schools and to force universities to actively recruit Latino students, staff, and faculty. Oscar was very popular in the Humboldt Park community. The Puerto Rican community has been making petitions so we can reach obama, sadly this year we were 100 signs short. We will try again this year!
