I moved to Johnstown when I was entering Kindergarten. As a student walking into my senior year, knowing the name of every person in my class, I would 100% recommend Johnstown-Monroe High School to others. This school feels like coming home. Walking in on the first day each year has never been scary because I know that I'll have classes with my friends. I know what to expect of teachers from the advice given to me by upperclassmen and my classroom size typically ranges from 19 to 23 students. If you are a band student, your last two periods of the day are spent outside marching the routines for Friday's halftime performance. As for the rest of us, we are given the opportunity to choose from the colorful electives my school has to offer. They have everything from drama to painting to weight training courses. They offer Agricultural Sciences and Medieval History (where students build cannons and launch things at the school). As someone who wants to go to college, they give great options where I can earn college credit from the comfort of my high school, free of charge. My school is inviting and always thriving.
So yes, I would absolutely recommend Johnstown-Monroe High School to any and all prospective students.
