Student, La Cueva High School, Class of 2017,
If I had to choose a New Mexico public school, La Cueva would undoubtedly be my first choice. However, if I was allowed to choose a private school I would choose Albuquerque Academy. While La Cueva is a great school (by New Mexico standards) a significant majority of the student population disrespects the privilege that they have. They disrespect the teachers, instruction time, and the school itself. La Cueva's teachers tend to be hardworking and excellent (there are a few exceptions), therefore undeserving of the teenagers who attend their classes. The few students who want to learn, focus, and succeed are continually held back by the unwilling.
