If you don't want to live in a large metropolitan area, where you have to deal with crowds, fierce traffic, insufficient parking, and expensive housing, if you don't want to have easy access to the wealth of museums (all the Smithsonian museums are FREE!), theaters, music venues, rich variety of ethnic restaurants and cultural festivals, and history everywhere you turn, look at other institutions.

The student who should not attend the University of Maryland would be someone who does not wish to succeed in this world. Someone who takes no for an answer, and strives to be average. This is not a school for the simple student who had to go to college, this is a school for a student who wants to be successful.

Students that are not ready to meet high academic standards should not attend the University of Maryland. The professors at the university have certain expectations for their classes - especially that students can be capable of problem-solving and can perform tasks on their own. Unfortunately, students that are not ready to commit to this academic lifestyle is not ready to attend the University of Maryland.
